DIVING EQUIPMENT
Though you must be certified, and bring your own regulator (rental available) and dive card, the Resort will provide you, through Westside Water Sports, with full foot fins, masks, weight belts, and tanks, as well as expert direction from their very knowledgeable divers.

Deep-Sea Sport Fishing
The 36 ft. dual hull catamaran, "Manta Ray", is Turtle Island's well equipped and comfortable fishing boat. The deep-sea boat goes out six days per week. Fishing trips are usually in the early morning, last between 4-6 hours and are dependent on weather conditions. The "Manta Ray" trolls the reefs located around Turtle Island and neighboring islands. Catches include fish such as yellow fin tuna, trevally, wahoo, Spanish mackerel, mahi mahi, barracuda, shark, skipjack tuna, marlin, rainbow runner, and the occasional sailfish.

Fly-Fishing
Miles of unspoiled shoreline, pristine shallow reefs and an abundant fish population with little fishing pressure combine to make the Yasawas a perfect fly-fisherman's paradise. Target species include bonefish, trevally, coral trout and red sea bass. Turtle Island does not provide instruction for this sport but does arrange day trips through a local guide on a neighboring island for a charge. Turtle Island suggests that guests bring their own equipment.

Land Activities...
After a few days, most guests realize the real pleasures here go beyond what the eye can see. You'll easily surrender to the leisurely flow of our friendly, sun filled Fijian days.
Occasionally, neighboring islanders host activities such as Sunday morning church services, a mission school visit, sporting event, or an open air market.
At day's end, many guests enjoy sitting under the huge banyan tree, sharing "kava" (the ceremonial drink) and song with other guests and staff.
There are no luxury high rises, no tennis courts, no airfields, no shopping malls. There are no televisions, no newspapers, no billboards. Just unspoiled natural beauty and the gentle rhythm of the tides.
For those of you who may have brought with you an unbridled sense of energy for activity - look no further: sunset cruises, horseback riding, mountain bike riding, occasional visits to native villages, champagne picnic lunches, hiking...
Many excellent trails, from easy to moderate, offer the hiker, mountain biker or those just out for an evening stroll, plenty of wonderful opportunities. With 500 acres to roam, all trails boast spectacular South Pacific scenery, providing striking views. Enjoy the native rainforests, the verdant hills and the fascination of the mangroves. Feel free to explore. The staff is always delighted to guide you, or you can venture out on your own.
Regardless of your level of expertise, you'll find one of our horses just right for a ride along the trails and beaches. A good selection of saddles ensures a comfortable ride.

Lomi-Lomi Massage
This unique healing massage has been handed down through Hawaiian families for generations and is profoundly healing and nurturing. Lomi-Lomi can be given by a single practitioner or with two practitioners working together- double the bliss!
The Hawaiian people view all aspects of the body as one and believe that the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual are all part of the "whole self".
Thus the intent of lomi-lomi is to free energy flow by releasing stress and tension in the body and restore balance and harmony to mind, body and spirit by working deeply through these levels.
When a lomi-lomi practitioner touches your body, it is with total respect, non-judgment, compassion and love.
Different parts of the body may be massaged at the same time, and full and under-body strokes are used to bring the body back into balance and instill a deep sense of peace, harmony and well-being.
The massage is given in a fluid, rhythmic motion working with the body’s natural flow and rhythm. Thus lomi-lomi is also known as "Loving Hands" or "Temple Style" massage.
At completion of the massage, you will feel blissfully relaxed, with the benefits of the healing continuing long after the massage has ended.
